What is EFT?
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It is a form of counselling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT).
The premise of Emotional Freedom Technique is that:
"Our negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body's energy system"
EFT works to clear such disruptions and eliminate the resulting emotional response or intensity to restore emotional harmony and offer relief from physical discomfort. This is achieved through focussed tapping on the body's energy meridians.
The combination of sending kinetic energy to our energy system, whilst uncovering and focusing on root causes through thought and verbalising, facilitates restoration of the energy system and eliminates "short circuits" to the body's learnt response or negative emotion.
I have always known what I need to do to lose my excess weight (don't we all!) but have historically struggled to do this by myself ending up with a short term success but quickly putting any lost weight back on. Through Vidya's support with both 1:1 Diet and EFT, she has helped uncover what my comfort eating represents for me and enabled me to identify it and respond in other ways other than raiding the snack cupboard. I have hugely valued every session with Vidya, her listening and uncovering what isn't said out loud are fine tuned, I always walk away feeling like I've discovered something new about myself and a better understanding of how I operate.

What will I experience?

The best analogy for my role as an EFT Practitioner, is that I work like a dentist would. I can teach you how to ‘clean your teeth’ properly in sessions, but you can choose to see me regularly, as little or as often as you need to keep things in working order, and to do any deeper more restorative work which may feel necessary to you.
